A Land of Wealth & Peril

Somewhere between “4E XCOM,” “Final Fantasy (4E) Tactics,” and the semi-legendary West Marches campaign lives A Land of Wealth & Peril. Our Agenda is thus:

- Challenge with possibility of failure, both short- and long-term
- Risks and rewards!
- Tactically interesting combat decisions
- Strategically interesting between-combat decisions
- Group progress toward shared goals
- Exploration & discovery of a shared world
- (Potentially) Competition between groups

We will achieve this through taking 4E’s tactical combat and putting it in the context of a dangerous, persistent world with player-created quests and layering on a classic videogame style series of unlocks, strategic resource spending, and so on. In the fiction, this will take the form of a small settlement attempting to expand. As it expands, it will be able to recruit more different types of adventurers — which it will need to, because getting through a quest without anyone dying will be something to crow about!
